The David Deioma Lecture

With the generous support of David Deioma, The Institute for Management and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University is pleased to host the David Deioma Lecture. Its goal is to educate the broad university community about aspects of technology-based new venture creation, entrepreneurship, and innovation, including the role of intellectual property, characteristics of the entrepreneur, new venture financing, and disciplined approches for the transformation of technological advances into innovations of signifcant societal impact.

Photo of David DeiomaDavid Deioma is a 1962 graduate of the Case Institute of Technology at Case Western Reserve University. He graduated in 1965 from Georgetown School of Law. After serving as a U.S. patent examiner, he moved to Cleveland to practice in a private firm. He has practiced Intellectual Property Law in Cleveland since 1965 and is a partner in the firm of Pearne & Gordon LLP. His practice includes the prosecution and litigation of patents and trademarks. Mr. Deioma belongs to The American and Cleveland Intellectual Property Associations and other federal and state Bar associations. He is a past president and director of the Ohio Venture Association and is on the Visiting Committee to Case School of Engineering. He has been an investor in a number of buy-outs and start-ups and served on several boards of directors. Two of his investments have gone public and others have been successful.
