The Institute seeks partnerships and alliances with a variety of outside organizations. As an educational institution, our efforts are designed to benefit the public as well as the numerous corporations that employ our students. We seek advice from these corporate stakeholders when initiating new programs and for continuous improvement in ongoing programs. In addition to the Industrial Advisory Board for our academic program and the Judging Panel for our Case Business Launch Competition, several of the alliances under development include:
An alliance is being formed with Jamie Ireland a Managing Director of Capital One Partners, which is forming a new venture fund known as Early Stage Partners, L.P., which will be very synergistic with the TiME Case Business Launch Competition. Thus, we will establish an alliance involving referrals for deal flow, reciprocal introductions to key individuals and the development of joint activities such as the networking events.
An alliance with Irah Donner, a CWRU alumnus and patent attorney with the well known firm, Hale and Dorr LLP will evaluate the winner(s) from our competition for an event they hold in collaboration with NexGen, a top venture capital firm.
The Institute also works closely with Weatherhead's Miller Center for Entrepreneurship in the area of entrepreneurial programs involving technology and engineering.
The Weatherhead Entrepreneurs Club and the Institute work together on networking events and educational seminars. The Entrepreneurs Club holds an annual Business Plan Competition which provides a prize of up to $3,000 to the winners. The highest ranking technology-based winner is automatically admitted into the final rounds of the Institute's Case Business Launch Competition.
If you wish to become a partner or form an alliance with the Institute in any area, please let us know. We would welcome the opportunity.
